Pooh Bears (Infants 6 weeks – 10 months) and Ducklings (10 months – 15 months)

Welcome to the Pooh Bears and Ducklings!

Our infant rooms are designed to truly be a home away from home for your child.

Each child will be welcomed in each morning into a relaxed, friendly and loving atmosphere.

Primary Care-Giver. To add to your individualized experience, your family has your very own designated care-giver. Your care-giver is responsible for your child’s daily routine while in our care. (Taking great care to keep your child on his or her schedule).

During napping times your baby will be able to doze off to dreamland effortlessly on his or her Kolcraft Pure Sleep Therapeutic Crib Mattress. This mattress features a 150-coil innerspring system and hypoallergenic cushioning for layers of firmness, comfort and support.

The infant room welcomes in natural light each day and is organized to be completely self-contained with its own kitchen, and separate storage and breakfast/lunch areas.

Our program includes the Creative Curriculum, a research-based, innovative and engaging approach to early learning.

Infant Room Staff. Our Infant Care-Givers average over 12 years of caring for Wonder Years Academy children and bring a lifetime of experience and skill to our youngest children. They are truly exceptional.

Once You Enroll. We offer a unique arrangement after you enroll your child. At The Wonder Years Academy we understand the difficulty parents face when they are about to begin the daily routine of dropping off their youngest child. Therefore, we offer a period of transition in order to help you and your baby adjust to the new routine. We have had a tremendous amount of positive feedback from this program.

Little Quackers (15 Months – Two Years) and Busy Bees (Two Years – Two and Half Years)

Little Quackers and Busy Bees are striving for independence and have reached a child's first real milestone. They have grown into the mobile stage and are walking and exploring their fascinating environment.

Since our toddlers learn through play and exploration, we give them space, age-appropriate materials, and stimulation they need to help develop and grow. Our Toddler Classrooms are designed to be self-contained and are equipped with a food preparation area, diaper changing station, and bathroom.

At this stage, we focus on hand-eye coordination, motor development, problem-solving, and communication skills. Our Little Quackers and Busy Bees are quickly developing at this age. We are focused on helping them achieve their physical and emotional milestones.

Amazing Alligators (Two and Half Years – Three Years)

Amazing Alligators are now independent, curious, and into lots of exploration. Amazing Alligators have expanded their language skills and can communicate verbally.

At this stage, independence dominates and exploration is their number one priority and children grow and develop very quickly. Once children enter our Amazing Alligators classroom, the focus shifts to more of a preschool educational experience.

The Amazing Alligators begin their day with circle time where they are introduced to the concept of the day. Here they learn and review letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. Our experienced and energetic teachers work in small groups with the children during art, sensory, and fine motor skill development. This ensures we dedicate sufficient time for the child to understand concepts that are newly introduced.

Along with education, another main focus in this classroom is to become toilet-ready. Our Amazing Alligators will be introduced to the potty regularly throughout the day once they display interest. The goal is to have every child toilet-ready by the time they are three years old as they prepare for the Jungle Jammers.

Jungle Jammers (Three Years – Four Years)

Our Jungle Jammer classroom represents our Preschool Program. Our Jungle Jammer students are fully engaged in small group learning throughout the day. They begin their day at 9 AM with circle time. The morning consists of story time during which the teacher introduces the concept of the day, letter, number, and color of the week.

While in small groups children engage in a variety of activities including fine motor skill development, math, language arts, science and creative art. Included in their daily schedule are two visits to our turf playground. Dramatic play and gross motor skill development abound on our 4,500 square foot play space which includes a water play area.

We strongly encourage our Jammers to continue to develop their "I can do it attitude." We teach them independent skills such as making their own cots for a nap, putting away their nap time sheets and blankets, and cleaning up their breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

Wildcats (Four Years - Five Years) Pre-Kindergarten

Following completion of the preschool program, Jammers graduate to our pre-Kindergarten, the Wildcats. In pre-K, the children exercise more independence and develop personal and social skills and emotional IQ. Wildcats are introduced to Spanish, sign language, and sight words.
